Margaret Atwood has turned her hand to zombie fiction in an online
collaboration with fellow novelist Naomi Alderman.
The Happy Zombie Sunrise Home is a serialised novel which will be
published in 13 instalments from now until Jan 2.
The first three chapters went live today at www.wattpad.com/happyzombie
Atwood, author of over a dozen novels including Booker Prize-winner The
Blind Assassin, said she had
“a lot of fun” devising the tale of a 15-year-old girl
battling through a zombie apocalypse.
The Canadian novelist was teamed up with Alderman as part of the Rolex Mentor
initiative, which pairs distinguished figures from the arts world with
up-and-coming talents.
